Project Period: July – December 2024
Project Locations: Guangxi, Chongqing, Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, Shanghai
This project centers on the national strategy of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor. Based on the five key financial priorities, it focuses on studying feasible financial support plans that Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region can provide. The research concludes that the ASEAN Cross-Border Financial Service Center is an important symbol for Guangxi to build a financial opening gateway facing ASEAN, a key measure for Nanning of Guangxi to develop into a regional international financial center, and a phased strategic positioning for the development of Guangxi’s financial industry.
Among its core service offerings are the Multimodal Transport Document Certification Center and the ASEAN Bilateral Local Currency Settlement Center, which serve as critical financial instruments for Guangxi to link traders between ASEAN and China, especially central and western China. Its successful operation will greatly facilitate trade between regions along the New Western Land-Sea Corridor in Guangxi and ASEAN countries, and promote high-quality regional economic development.
